Configuration File Editor

The 'Configuration File Editor' allows a 'Configuration File' to be edited. A 'Configuration File' contains all the settings used by Outlook Profile 2008 at any one time that are grouped into Setting Profiles. The 'Configuration File Editor' can be accessed via the 'Tools->Configuration File Editor' menu

See the Default Configuration File for information on the 'Configuration File' used by default and how this can be modified.

A 'Configuration File' is divided into two main sections; 'Common' and 'Outlook'. Figure 1 shows these two sections.

Common

Contains Setting Profiles that apply to Outlook Profile 2008.

Application Settings

Determines the operation of Outlook Profile 2008.

Outlook

Contains Setting Profiles that can be applied to Outlook.

Outlook Profile with Exchange mailbox

Creates an Outlook profile based on a user's Exchange mailbox.

Outlook Options

Configure options found within the 'Tools->Options' menu of Outlook.

Outlook Startup

Configure options that effect how Outlook is started.
