Deployment
Outlook Profile 2008 has been designed for multiple machine deployment with centralised setting control. Please follow your preferred deployment path below.
Preliminary software requirements
Ensure at least the .NET framework 1.1 is installed on client machines before starting Step 1. See Version Support for further detail and automated .NET version reporting.
Preliminary notes
If required to access the folder Outlook Profile 2008 was installed into, the default location will be: 'C:\Program Files\Outlook Profile 2008\'
Step 1
On a single client machine or any machine where Outlook Profile 2008 has been installed using the 'Outlook Profile 2008.msi' file, start 'Outlook Profile 2008.exe' from the installation folder with the /EditOptionsMode switch. Access the Configuration File Editor from the 'Tools' menu and create a new 'Configuration File' with the desired settings and save to a central location such as server share or webserver.
Note: If using a webserver to house the 'Configuration File' you'll need to ensure the file name and extension are allowed. The file can have any name or extension, for example: 'http://webserver1/outlook.txt'. To test separately from Outlook Profile 2008, open a web browser on a client that will run the software and specify the address of the 'Configuration File'.
