Installation Switches
Installation switches can be included when running the 'Outlook Profile 2008.msi' setup program.
Note: Not all switches require a forward slash but their names must be in UPPERCASE. When assigning an assoicated value the following format must be used: SWITCH="value"
Configuration File
Specifies the location of the 'Configuration File'. To learn more about 'Configuration Files', see the Configuration File Editor.
Syntax: CONFIGFILE="<path>"
Examples
Network Drive: CONFIGFILE="y:\outlookprofile.xml"
UNC Path: CONFIGFILE="\\server1\share1\outlookprofile.xml"
WebServer: CONFIGFILE="http://webserver1/outlookprofile.xml"
Quiet
Ensure no prompts are displayed. This switch is mandatory when specifying the CONFIGFILE switch.
Syntax: /QUIET
Preserve the Default Configuration File
Do not overwrite the Default Configuration File
Syntax: PRESERVECONFIG=True or False
Serial
Serial number containing four groups of four alphanumeric characters separated by hyphens.
Syntax: SERIAL="xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx"
Shortcuts
Determines where shortcuts will be placed to ensure Outlook Profile 2008 can be started manually. Starting Outlook Profile 2008 from one of these shortcuts is referred to as User Interactive Mode.
Syntax: SHORTCUTS=all or startmenu or desktop or none
Logging
Saves extended output during setup to the 'Outlook Profile 2008.exe.log' file located within the specified or default installation folder 'C:\Program Files\Outlook Profile 2008\'
Syntax: DEBUG=True or False
